The main character is Ariel and shes the youngest of her family. She has a lot of sisters, still her only friends are her fish, Flounder, a oceangull, Scuttle, and a crab, Sebastian. Unfortunately, a storm came upon them and Eric fell overboard. Ariel feared for his life and she saved his life. She interpret to him while he was unconscious and once he gains cognizance she quickly leaves to avoid being discovered. Memorized by Ariels voice, Eric vows to curb her. Trident later learns that Ariel is in love with a human and he destroys all of Ariels treasures that she got from the surface. Shes so upset that she leaves to a witch named Ursula.
